Aquatic Therapy

If you've had joint replacement or have arthritis, chronic pain or neuromuscular disease, you may benefit from aquatic therapy in one of our heated therapy pools or whirlpool spas.

Hand, Arm and Shoulder Therapy

Hand, elbow and shoulder injuries such as fractures, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis and tendinitis require specialized treatment. Our hand therapists are experts in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. Treatment may include custom splinting, exercise therapy and other activities to improve motion and dexterity.

Athletic/Sports Medicine Training

We are the sole provider of athletic training for the Richmond Kickers, Richmond Flying Squirrels, Richmond Marathon, University of Richmond, Longwood University, Virginia State University, Chesterfield County High Schools. Our services range from helping weekend warriors recover from sports injuries and aches and pains, to helping patients recovering from major illness and injury, to performance enhancement training for competitive athletes. Aquatic Therapy

Aquatic Physical Therapy is the evidence based practice of physical therapy in an aquatic environment by physical therapists and physical therapists assistants. Aquatic Physical Therapy includes but is not limited to treatment, rehabilitation, prevention, health, wellness and fitness of patient/client populations in an aquatic environment. The unique properties of the aquatic environment enhance treatments for patients/clients across the age span with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiovascular/pulmonary, diseases, disorders, or conditions.

Bio Motion Functional Capacity Evaluations

Through our partnership with Bio Motion, we use state-of-the-art, 3D motion analysis technology to evaluate workers' ability to complete job duties. We're also able to analyze walking, running and other movements for efficiency.

Our clinicians use special motion analysis technology to learn more about how your body works. With Dartfish™ software and high-speed cameras, we can learn things about full-speed motion that can't be seen with the naked eye. Using information provided by this advanced technology we can help prevent injuries, adjust treatment for faster healing or take your game to the next level. MotionPro Running Assessments

Our MotionPro running assessments use video analysis of running in conjunction with runners' exercise programs to maximize performance. We focus on improving running form and provide advice on how to improve times, eliminate pain and avoid injury.

NuStep is a recumbent stepper that combines a natural sitting position with a smooth stepping motion to improve cardiovascular and overall fitness for people of all ages and abilities.

SaeboFlex

SaeboFlex is a breakthrough device that helps stroke patients regain hand function, even up to 20 years after the stroke occurred.

VitalStim

VitalStim Swallowing Therapy is an advanced therapy for patients who are unable to swallow or have difficulty swallowing. The treatment uses small electrical currents to stimulate the muscles responsible for swallowing.

Body-Weight-Supported Gait Training

This treatment technique focuses on maximizing weight bearing during gait training to help strengthen walking skills.

Cardiac Rehab

Orthopedic Rehab

We help patients with arthritis, neck, back or joint pain, spinal fusions, myofascial pain, soft tissue sprains or strains, shoulder impingement and capsulitis syndromes, and individuals recovering from orthopedic surgery. Treatment includes soft tissue and joint mobilization, a full range of therapies and a customized exercise plan for each patient. We also consult with in-house neurological therapists when needed.

Neurological Rehab

Our patients include stroke survivors and individuals with stroke, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, brain injuries, balance disorders and other conditions. Licensed therapists help with balance and gait training, general mobility, strength and endurance training, instruction in home exercise, use of orthotics and prosthetics, equipment evaluations and fall prevention. We also provide home safety assessments and consult with in-house orthopedic therapists when needed.

Pulmonary Rehab

If you have chronic bronchitis, emphysema, asthma, COPD or another significant lung problem, you can benefit from our pulmonary rehab services. You'll learn about breathing retraining, nutrition and medication, as well as how to conserve energy and control infection. An exercise program will be specifically designed for you to build your strength and endurance.

Lymphedema Treatment
